Easter

We had a wonderful Easter. We woke up and wen to the early service at church. The older boys stayed with us in big church and the babies in he nursery. The older boys did fairly well sitting still. Then we came home and let them open their baskets, had an egg hunt in the front yard, and did some yard work and played out front. It was a great day to end a great family weekend and we were reminded of how blessed we are. He is Risen.

Parker egg hunt

We had to head up to Denver the Saturday before Easter to look at a couple house and the Barber's invited us to the Parker Egg Hunt they were going to. It was a great time. They divided it into two different hunts - one for little kids and one for big kids. Olivia and Nolan did great picking up eggs and putting them in their bags. The boys had a blast too running to get eggs. After the egg hunt the Barber and us went to lunch before he headed to go see a house. It was a great morning with great friends!

Denver Trips

We have been thinking about moving to Denver to be closer to Justin's work so we have been spending most weekend up there looking at houses and locations of where we want to live. The kids have been great on these trips. Part of that I am sure is that we always stop at a park or two to play. Here are some pictures of one of our favorite parks.

Play Dates

The babies and I have been filling our days (that aren't mops days) with play dates. One day we headed up to Denver and saw Melissa and Avery and Lindsay and Savannah's at Lindsay's house. The kids had a blast playing together and it was fun to catch up with my friends. We then had a Mops play date at Focus on the Family. The kids always have a blast here and its much easier to go without the older boys as we can mostly stay in the baby area. We then met another friend at Monkee Bizness, always a favorite place to get rid of some energy. And I love getting out and being with my friends!

Report Cards

Third quarter report cards for the older boys came in and we couldn't be more proud. Both boys are doing great in all subjects. They are either right where they should be or even a little ahead.  Carter does have an issue in gym, where he needs to do a little less playing and more listening. Besides that though, they had great comments from their teachers. They also got good marks for the behavior part of their report cards, which is even more important to Justin and I. Keep up the good work boys!!

Talk a lot

Olivia is just exploding with her language, already talking in 2 to 3 word sentences. Its so fun to hear her. Nolan is also talking so much more. He now has 3-4 word sentences and is much clearer with his pronunciation. His speech therapist is thrilled with his progress, as are we!

Sing a song

I sing to Nolan and Olivia every night before bed. It has been fun the last few night as now Nolan is singing along and Olivia requests songs. Every night Olivia requests he sing "ducks" and "bus". Nolan then sings along, especially with the wheels on the bus. Then Nolan requests some songs. He usually wants to sing "ducks" again, but he also requests his song, Baby Mine. We usually throw Twinkle twinkle, Jesus loves me, and ABC's in for good measure.

Favorite things

Tyler was telling Justin how he has a partner in his class that he helps with reading and math with. He reads her the directions or helps her figure out the math problems when she can;t get them. He said "I like to be her partner because I get to be nice and I like helping her". Love him.

Moving Talks

So Justin and I have been talking about moving to Denver, and we are pretty sure it will be a for sure thing so we started talking about it with the boys. For the most part they seem excited about it. They are worried they will miss their friends, and Carter is sad he won't be in Mrs Eschler's (Tyler's first grade teacher) class. They are excited to see daddy more, get to go to the Denver zoo, have a house that they will get to ride their bikes at more, and to go to Case Bonita (something they have wanted to do since they heard about it). While I am sure the transition will be hard, I am certain it will be good in the long run.

Hide and Seek

Olivia is the master hide and seek player. She will hide behind crevices, inside closets behind clothes or under pillows. No one has shown her how to do this so I am not sure where she picked it up. She is also completely silent. You will call her name and she won't make a sound or giggle like most kids do. The scary part of this, is that no one knows when she is playing it. All of a sudden we can't find Olivia anywhere and its because she is playing hide and seek without letting anyone know. There has been more than one occasion where I was about to call 9-1-1 when someone
finally finds her. A master I tell ya.

Favorite Things

I woke up sick, sick enough that I didn't think I would even make it to take the boys to school so they stayed home all day. The older boys were great, helping out with the babies so I could rest. I had the babies watching a show and Carter came upstairs with some toast with butter on it for me. He had made it himself without me even mentioning it hoping it would help me feel better. Melts my heart how much he thinks of others. Luckily I was feeling better by the afternoon and no one else got what I had.
