Recovery

Tyler has been recovering pretty well. He eats soft foods just fine and we have to tell him to stop running around most days, We is really looking forward to the one week point he can start riding his bike and stuff (the rule follower remembers just what the doctor said). The hardest part is in the middle of the night, for some reason it seems to hurt a lot more then, We have tried waking him up to give him his meds before they wear off, but he really doesnt even like that. It seems to be getting better little by little every day though. Hopefully in another few days it will all be behind us.

Greeley Trip

Tyler seemed to be feeling ok, so to celebrate our 10 year anniversary we headed up to Greeley. We pretty much just drove around and showed the kids the DDI and went to Glenmere Park, where Justin proposed. Tyler really didn't want to play or anything, but he hung in there. It was very nice to reminiscence and see all our old favorite spots and where it all began.

10 years

Justin and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary. Because of Tyler's surgery the day before we really didn't do anything. However I am so blessed to have him as my husband and the father of our children. We have been through a lot these past ten years, but they have been the best ten years of my life. I love you Justin.

Surgery

Surgery day came. Tyler did pretty well not eating or drinking anything all morning. His wasnt until later because he was an older kid. When we got there he was acting fine just a little nervous. He kept his bear with him the entire time. When it was time to go back, he requested his medicine smell like root bear. We didn't really squirm or anything, just went right to sleep. In about 30 minutes it was over and I was brought back to his room. I was told everything went just great. We didn't want to watch a movie or anything and i could tell he was uncomfortable. He kept saying his tummy hurt. He did eventually get sick, but after that he was much better. He got to drink a lot of juice, eat some popsicles and some jello. He pretty much slept the whole way home, but he seemed to be doing just great When we got home we actually had to tell him to settle down some. He was very excited to get to eat ice cream all week! We are very happy the surgery went well and praying for an easy recovery.

Aurora Reservoir

Ben and Rachel Kask and their two boys were in town from South Korea, so us and the Roses met up at the Aurora Reservoir. The kids all loved it They loved playing on the beach and in the water. There was a shallow end which was great for the kids. We ended up bbqing and staying quite a bit of time. It was so much fun catching up with everyone as well. I think we will come back many times at it was so fun!

Pool Time

The Hancocks came up from the Springs to play with us for the day, We hit up the pool at Southridge, which I hadn't taken all 4 by myself to yet, but the kids still did great. The older boys can do the lazy river and everything by themselves, and the babies did a great job staying with me. The kids seemed to have a ton of fun and we stayed loner than usual. Olivia even fell asleep in my arms IN the pool. I was amazed. The Hancocks stayed and swam even more after we left, but it was great to catch up.

Vbs

I was looking for a VBS to put the boys into this summer. I found one at a local church that looked like a lot of fun, Everyday they were told to wear swimsuits or clothes that they could get messy. It was also a nighttime, which made a nice break for Justin and I. The boys seemed to love it. They played a lot of loud music and danced around, which Carter didn't love, but once they were outside they liked it a lot. One day they had bounce houses, they had water fights, they had mashes potato fights, a ton of fun stuff. On the last night it was a family night with a bbq. We got to listen to all the songs and everything they had been learning and then go to play in bounce houses and on the playground. All 4 kids loved that. A fun week for sure.

Pre-op appt

We had Tyler's pre-op appointment for his tonsils. Just the two of us went and he was acting somewhat nervous. I told him to ask the doctor what ever he wanted. Luckily he told me those questions before hand, because he clammed up when the doctor came in. He wanted to know how long he would be asleep for, how long his throat would hurt, and if he could see his tonsils when it was all done and over with. It seems like it should be a pretty easy procedure, but the recovery could be tough. We are praying for a speedy recovery and not to may nerves.

Heritage Square

When we got back from Michigan we had another family day. Because we really aren't going to Maryland or anything this summer with the move, we decided we would do a lot of family days to discover Denver. We decided to go to Heritage Square which is a really fun amusement park. The kids all loved it. All the boys could go on all the ride, and Livi could go on most of them. I think we rode every single ride. Then we hit up the carousel, which Nolan wasn't so sure about. Carter then rode in a go cart with Justin and Tyler got to ride one himself. We ended up the day in the paddle boats. A super fun day and we can't wait to go again. There is a huge alpine slide that we have yet to try!

Michigan Trip

On July 5th, Olivia and I got up bright and early to go to the airport - we were off to Michigan! We were going to meet Oma there and Olivia would get to meet her great-grandma for the first time. It was a wonderful trip. I loved that I got to see my grandma, and she lite up when she saw Olivia for the first time. We also got to see my Great Aunt Janet  (who Olivia loved) and Uncle Amos and my cousin Brandy.

Olivia did great with my grandma. Since my grandma is in assisted living, Livi would just sit and color and play a little around the room. She did SO well. She also warmed up to Grandma (thats what Livi called her too) and played a little peek a boo with her. When she did get antsy she would happily walk around the place with my mom, which the other residents and nurses loved as well.

Livi and I had a great girls weekend with my mom and she did great sleeping in the hotel. She also got her first haircut and of course got spoiled by Oma. It was a wonderful trip and memories that I will always hold dear to my heart.

4th of July

We had a fun 4th of July. I guess every year our cul-de-sac does a fun bbq and shoots off fireworks and everything. Because of all the fires, there would be no where to see fireworks this year so we decided to do the cul-de-sac thing. Nana and Bapa were also in town. The kids had a ton of fun running around with all the kids and eating a lot of cookies and sweets. They also had fun throwing around bottle caps. It was also nice getting to know some neighbors better as well. At the end of the night they did shoot off a couple of fireworks, which the kids thought was great.

Rocky Mountain National Park

Justin took a day off work so that we could have a fun family day. We drove up to Rocky Mountain National Park and had a great time. Justin and I hadn't been there since we were engaged. We planned on going to a reservoir, but it was closed. We found another hiking spot where we also had a nice picnic lunch. The kids did great hiking as usual. We drove around some more, climbed some rocks, drove some more to the top where there was snow! The kids loved playing in snow in July. We then climbed the stairs all the way to the top. I was so impressed with Livi and Nolan doing this! As we were leaving we also a moose and a baby moose! It was a great surprise! On the way home we stopped at dinner and played at a park that kids also loved. Great day for sure!
