Gymnastics

We put Carter into a gymnastics class. i think he thought he would get to do flips on the trampoline all day. He did seem to enjoy it. He got to practice on the rings, and bars, but his favorite was when he got to tumble around on the floor. I wasn't crazy about his coach and he wasn't always that into it and played around some. I just kept telling myself this was just for fun, and to keep him active more than anything else and those two things were being accomplished so I should let the skills (or lack of) go. Now that its over he does ask when he can be in gymnastics again so maybe he enjoyed it more than he let on.

New Job

Olivia has her first job - feeding the dog. She came about this all by herself and now thinks she needs to feed the dog all the time. If the dog was just fed, she needs to feed her again. If the dog food bowl is full, she needs to fill it even more. Its a great help. For the most part she keeps it pretty clean and is pretty good at putting the top back on the dog food and Hana's bowl back into its place. She sure is getting big.

Bike Ride

We went on another family bike ride and both older boys did great. We started where we had turned around last time and rode a few miles. At one point of the trail there was a dirt bike track with hills and jumps. The boys tired to go over this and hard a hard time getting up the biggest hill. Tyler eventually got up it and then rode down it. Carter got up and decided he didn't want to go down it. They both rode over the little bumps though. Carter improved a lot this bike trip, riding a lot more and conquering the hills better. The boys did have one crash into each other which resulted in some tears, but they both got back up and rode again. The babies also still love the trailer. Loving our family bike rides!

Favorite things

Just a cute little story - Justin and I were tucking the babies into bed and Carter came up to say good night. He was hugging Nolan good night when I asked Nolan "you love your brothers don't you?" He answered "a lot". Love them.

Zoo

One morning I took just Nolan and Livi to the zoo while the boys were at school. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time. I used to do many of these trips with just the older boys and it reminded me so much of that time. Nolan pretty much wanted to walk the whole way and did a great job. Olivia wanted to get in and out as well quite a bit. We fed the giraffes (mostly me doing the feeding) and went and saw all the animals. Without the older boys, we skip the carousel and train. Olivia really loved seeing the gorillas. She would go right up to the window and just smile and giggle at them. It was very cute to see. Nolan loved watching the river otters swim - always his favorite! The older boys were sad they didn't get to go, but I just reminded them they had a lot of these when they were young so its the babies turn. We will have to do a family trip again soon.

Touch a Truck

We went to the annual touch a truck again this year. The kids once again had a blast climbing on and inside all the trucks. They didn't have nearly as many military trucks and I think the boys favorite was the moving truck they got to run all over the inside of. Enjoy the pictures!

18 Month Check-up

Olivia had her 18 month check-up and is doing great healthy wise. She is also way ahead on everything developmentally, especially speech. I guess sitting in on Nolan's speech therapy every week is rubbing off on her, or maybe its that she is a girl. I mentioned that she wants to go to the potty sometimes and her doctor told me that while some may start doing it that early, usually they only stayed interested a week or so and then move on, so if I want to wait it won't hurt her. Her stats for her 18 month appointment are: weight - 21 lbs, 27th percentile; height - 32.3 inches, 66th percentile, and head circumference 17.4 in, 8th percentile. Her BMI is 14.2 (which I think is underweight).  Blessed to have such a healthy girl!
