Carter Update!

Time for a Carter Update! He is doing so well in school and just loves it. He does have his days when he doesn't want to go, but for the most part its never an issue.  He is learning of much and know all his letters and sounds (although L and R still sound like W).  He is starting to be able to read and spell out words. He still is a great artist and loves coloring and making art projects. He loves to jump on the trampoline and ride his scooter, but we still need to remind him to turn off the television because he really loves to watch his shows. He is still great in the water and is finally deciding he could try riding his bike (with training wheels).  He also just got tie shoes and wants to learn how to tie them (just like Tyler does). He still loves to play pretend superhero and has a reason/excuse for anything and everything. He is a great big brother and helps me out with Carter and Olivia throughout the day. He is also usually the one I don't have to ask more than once when it comes to chore time, always a plus. He is so excited to go to Kindergarten next year and I kn ow he will just do awesome.

Singing!

On Wednesday nights both boys are in choir classes at church. Their choirs and Carter's preschool all sang in big church the past few weeks. Both boys did well and sang but neither of them like to do the hand motions. Here are the videos (only one of Carter's performances, because with his preschool you couldn't see him).

A Hiking We Will Go

One day we went and hiked Ute Valley Park. We let Nolan walk for a bit, but he is till kind of slow so he rode in the backpack most of the way and Livi in the front pack. We went on a different trail and it ended up trickier than we thought. There were a few parts that we had to scramble up rocks. The big boys loved this, and usually it would have been just fine. However with Livi in the front pack we didn't want her all scrapped up. Luckily we all survived with no scrapes. Nolan seemed to like riding the whole time as well. We hope to try to go up to Stanley Canyon this summer with all four.

Nolan Update

Nolan is getting so big. He still gets in to everything, but is starting to learn some boundaries. He loves to clean up, which is nice, but at times he gets a little to obsessed with it. He loves to help and is great with getting his shoes, hats, etc. He is also starting to figure out what his naughty step is.  His speech is also coming along pretty well. It seems he gets a couple new words every week. He also finally says Mama!!! Its hard to say how many words he has however, because he will say it and then we won't hear it again for a few weeks. For my own sake here is a list of words he says consistently:
hot, hat, ball, truck, bubble, mama, grrr (for a bear), sock, he whispers woof for a dog, side (outside), walk (when he wants to walk), bye bye, milk

Spring Break!

We had a wonderful Spring Break with the boys. I tried to do something fun with all the kids in the morning and then something special with the older two in the afternoon during the babies naps. So we had swimming lessons every morning and then went to the library and hit up a lot of parks. We even had a picnic dinner at a park on night.  In the afternoons we washed my car, baked cookies, played balloon tennis, made slime, bird feeders and even attempted making our own sidewalk chalk. We also went on a LOT of walks, rode our bikes and scooters in the backyard, jumped on the trampoline and just had a lot of fun. It makes me excited for summer coming up!

Zoo fun

Since the weather is so nice one Saturday we headed to the zoo with a friend. The kids were so excited to go! Nolan fed the giraffes again, and also all the boys got to help give a turtle a bath. We also played on the playground for a bit and just had a great time as always. I love that we have such a great zoo so close to us.

Spring is here!

We had a very unusually warm March and the boys LOVED it. Nolan was so excited that he was finally big enough to play outside more with the big boys. He LOVES the trampoline and has learned to climb on and off of it (we still spot him though), he loves to carry around any balls he can find, loves to ride his bike and he is already going over to talk to the neighbor boys just like his big brothers do. So nice to get everyone outside!!

7 Months!

Finally going to try to post all these blogs from the past month! Olivia is 7 month (almost 8) and getting so big. She climbs stairs, pulls up and is starting to cruise on everything, babbling and giggling all the time and just a real joy. She is starting to get stranger aware and at times only wants me, unless her daddy is around. She is so happy but no one can make her laugh more than Nolan right now. When we go shopping she is usually in her car seat in the big part of the cart and he sits in the seat. He turns around to see her and tickles her or play peek a boo with her and she just loves it. Of course he also hits her on occasion and she does not love that. She loves to eat all baby food and still loves her bottle. Her naps are still sporadic, but she usually takes a long afternoon one and still sleeps through the nights so no complaints there! We love having a baby girl so much and can't imagine our lives without little Livi.
