Spring Break

We had a pretty quiet Spring Break, but we still had a lot of fun. The kids and I met the Hanckcoks at the Science Muesum one day. As usual the kid had a lot of fun. Olivia did great with going to the potty as well. The boys really enjoyed going around with Westin and Kisa and it was nice I could hang with just the babies some as well. We also went to the pool and to a few parks. Can't believe the school year only has a couple months left!

Daylight Savings Time

I think every parent despises daylight savings time. Kids will wake up the same time regardless if they lose or gain an hour of sleep. Ad for the nest week they will be all messed up and cranky. On Sunday we went to get some kids some new shoes and do some shopping at the Outlet Malls. This is what happened on the way home. And yes they were not even close to tired at bedtime.

Teacher Conferences

The boys had their second semester teacher conferences and once again they are both doing great. Tyler was up first and he is still ahead in both math and reading. His teacher even commented that sometimes he gets a little silly with some of the other boy and needs to tell him to be quiet. I was actually somewhat excited about this, because it meant that he is making friends and interacting with them during the day. We did remind him though to make sure he is being respectful to his teacher and the class. She also mentioned that he rocks some, but we are pretty sure this is just because he likes to be moving at all times. As long as its not a distraction to anyone else we are fine with it. Carter is also doing well. He is still ahead in math a well and right where he should be with reading. He is still getting some extra help in reading so that he doesn't fall behind, but hi teacher aw a switch where he is starting to really enjoy it. Music to my ears! We did have an issue earlier in the year about him being somewhat defiant to his teacher and getting emotional. He has done much better at this and is learning to choose his attitude. He also has a lot of friends and is a great classmate. After we all went out for frozen yogurt to celebrate!

Tylers new love

Now that football season is over and we have put the Broncos superbowl loss behind us, Tyler has a new love. His new obsession is basketball. He plays with our hoop above the bathroom door all day long and is always trying to match his clothes so they can be like his favorite basketball team. His favorite team can change, but he likes the Bulls. the Heat, and the Thunder. No Nuggets love yet. He also plays basketball every day at school with some other kids. We will see how long this new obsession lasts.

Nolans sayings

Nolan is always making us laugh with his stories and saying. This is my latest favorite:

"Nolan is in the bathroom and asks for his privacy. I ask him if I can get him anything. He responds "some cars and trucks, some snacks, and a little bit of sunshine". Love that boy.

Potty Training

Since Olivia will be starting preschool and we will be traveling a lot this summer, I decided to try again with Olivia and potty training. She is catching on really well and really loves her chocolate chips. She even woke up dry a couple mornings! She does like to try every bathroom whenever we go anywhere, even if she doesn't have to go.  She loves wearing her big girl underwear though and I think in a few weeks we will be a family without any kids in diapers!

New Church

It took us a while but I think we have finally found a new church, Mission Hills. Its a lot bigger than what we were hoping for, but the kids absolutely love going and we feel like they are learning a lot by going there. We go on Saturday night, which we weren't so sure about, but we love it. We usually don't have plans on Saturday night and looking for something to do with the kids. This is perfect and its so nice not to have to have a rushed Sunday morning getting everyone ready for church. There are also a lot of opportunities to serve and to show God's love to others. Also a lot of younger families go there so hopefully we can get connected fairly easily. Justin even ran into an old college friend and his family. Glad to finally find a new church home.
