Swimming!

While Tyler is in baseball this summer, we thought we would put Carter back in swimming. Last year his teacher suggested that they aren't in the same class together anyway so this is the perfect time. Just like Carter has to sit through and watch all of Tyler's baseball game, Tyler has to sit and watch all of Carter's swimming lessons with me. So far both boys seem to be ok with it, although they both get bored at times. Carter had his first lesson today and did great. A couple times he stopped the activity they were doing and just sat there. He told me later that is was because he was getting splashed. He usually loves getting splashed so I am not sure what that is about. He also has a male teacher today, which I think will be good for him. At the end of the lesson he said he had a lot of fun. It will be a busy two weeks going to lessons every day and Tyler having games right after, but the boys are having fun and that is all that matters.

Build A Bear

Last weekend we had a garage sale. I was pleasantly surprised that they boys did not make a fuss at all really about giving up some of their stuff. It went much better than we thought as well, so that's always nice. Its also nice to have our garage back! On Sunday we cleaned up the garage some more, took a bunch of stuff to goodwill and then went to the mall. Both Tyler and Carter have a teddy bear Justin and I made for them. Its the bear I use to take a picture with them at every month of their first year and then at every birthday. For Nolan we decided the boys would get to pick out and make the bear for him. They had a lot of fun doing it, although they were sad we didn't buy the bear any clothes. As soon as we got home they went and put Deacon (the bear's name) into Nolan's crib so it would be there for him when he comes. Very sweet!

32 Week Appointment

I had my 32 week appointment on Wednesday. Everything it still looking great. I actually measured right on this week (right at 32 cm) where as at the last appointment I was measuring a week ahead. So maybe little Nolan is slowing down on the size and won't be as big after all. I gained back the 3 pounds I lost last week so back to 25 pounds total. His little heartbeat was at 156 beats per minute and everything else was great. I scheduled all the rest of my appointments from here on out as well. Although I didn't schedule a 40 week appointment because I know I won't be going that late. I am not even sure I will make it to my 39 week one. I am ready for him to drop as I am getting out of breath much quicker these days. Also I am now waddling everywhere instead of walking. I have to remind Justin to slow down whenever we are out because I can't keep up. Its all worth it though and I know I will miss these days and feeling him inside me once he is here. Which I don't know if I have mentioned or not, but he is very active. My hope for having a mellow child I think is gone if his inside the womb activity level corresponds to his outside of the womb activity level in anyway.

Happy Father's Day!!!

Happy Father's day to Justin! You are a great father and the boys and I are so blessed because of you!!!

We had a pretty nice Father's Day weekend and Justin was great about getting all the things done that I am starting to stress about before baby Nolan gets here (yes we have a name, Nolan Isaac). On Saturday we painted the whole nursery, ceiling and all, and put in the new fan and outlets. On Sunday Justin was nice enough to put up the crib, changing table, and letters, and run many errands. We finally bought the car seat and ordered a glider rocker for the room. We also went on the birth center tour. More for the boys than anything. However it has been remodeled since we had Carter and it is much nicer. I will have a private room the entire time - very excited for that! Last night Justin finished up the baby's room by putting up the new blinds, valance and helping me with the bedding. I will get pictures up soon! Thanks again honey for being such a great dad and husband, and for doing projects for me on you special day, you are the best!

Member's Night

Last Thursday was member's night at the zoo. We didn't have much time, but we still had a blast. The whole zoo was open at night just for the members which was great because its been to hot to go during the day. They also had all the rides half off and lots of animal demonstrations. The boys got their faces painted again and once again had tigers done. We got to feed the giraffes of course, but the best part was watching them run around the yard, something we had never seen before. We also got to see the lions who were quite active. One lion came right up to the glass where Carter was and growled at him. Carter then decided he didn't like the lions anymore. Tyler convinced him to like the daddy lions, just not the mommy ones. We also got to see the newly expanded mountain lion exhibit, which now can be seen from where the wolves are. So we got to watch the wolves and the mountain lions stare each other down. One of the zoo keepers told us that they will growl at each other throughout the day and the wolves have been much more active since they expanded it. By the time we got to the hippos and the chimps most of them were falling asleep., but the boys didn't seem to mind to much. Always a great time at the zoo!

New Room

This past weekend we moved the boys to the downstairs bedroom. So far they are loving it. The first couple nights we had to lay with them to get them to fall asleep (they kept playing) but ever since then they have been fine. As of now they are just sharing the full bed. We will probably get them bunk beds eventually, but right now they don't seem to mind sharing. Their favorite part is getting to have quiet time together. This pretty much means Carter isn't napping anymore, but he was showing signs of dropping that anyway. They love having their table in there to color, do puzzles, and legos on. In fact today when quiet time was over they told me they wanted to stay in there and keep playing. We also made their closet to their height so they can get dressed all by themselves and even put all their own clothes away now. So far I would say this new arrangement is a success! The only problem we had was the first morning they woke up in their new room. They made quite the mess. Luckily so far this hasn't been repeated.

America the Beautiful Park

Today was suppose to be another hot day so we headed down to the America the Beautiful Park to play in the fountain. Both boys had a great time splashing around and kicking the water everywhere. As usual Carter got tired of it first and came and ate lunch with me on the towels while Tyler continued playing. I was very surprised that once he was done eating he went back into the fountain. I am glad he is starting to enjoy the fountains more. After some time there we hit the playground. My monkey boy Carter wanted to climb on all the bigger kid equipment and was doing a pretty good job until I made him stop. I don't like how high he gets when I can't really help spot him or catch him right now. Tyler had fun imagining away that he was at a restaurant and serving me food. They both wanted to stay longer as well, but I was getting too hot. A very fun morning though!

30 week appointment

I can't believe we only have 10 weeks to go, and really its most likely only 8-9 weeks! My appointment went just fine, my doctor said we were just cruising now. I actually lost 3 pounds from my last appointment. Not sure why, but nobody is worried. So my weight gain is now 22 pounds. Not bad at all. She told me I was measuring just fine, although she wouldn't give me the number. She also couldn't tell if he was head down or what, but she found the heartbeat down low so she thinks he is. All in all a normal, quick appointment. Only 2 more of these every 2 weeks and then we are on to weekly ones - crazy! We also go our stroller and car seat today, but then decided we didn't like the car seat so we are going to return it and get something else. Hopefully in the next few weeks we will finally be able to start getting everything set up for this little guy!

Growing Up

Tyler has been making his own peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for a while now. Carter decided he was old enough to do it as well. I must say for as messy as he usually is and for his first time he did a pretty good job. He is also totally potty trained, including nights, and has been for a few months now. He buckles himself in to his car seat all by himself and dresses himself without much assistance at all. He is very excited to move to the bedroom downstairs and sleep in a really bed. He starts swimming classes in a couple weeks (without Tyler) and he can't wait. I just can't believe how big my baby is getting. However I also know that when the newest member of the family joins us in just a few weeks he will seem even bigger.

First Games

Tyler had his first two games this week. He did very well during them, making sure he was listening to the coach and doing what he should. He started running everywhere the ball went, but once we reminded him to stay in his place he did great. Except then he wouldn't run to it at all sometimes even when it came close to him. Another time he had the ball, but another kid took it out of his glove and threw it to first base. This made Tyler pretty upset but he got over fairly quickly and said he wold practice getting it out of his glove quicker for next time. He always does a great job hitting, which is his favorite thing to do. He does get bored at time waiting for his turn to hit or to go onto the field and "glove", but at the end of the game he is always so excited for the next game, and for the snacks he gets!

First Practice

Tyler had his first tee ball practice last night. We missed the official first one because of our trip to Montrose and then because of a miscommunication with the coach we thought we had one Tuesday night but was wrong. Talk about tears from Tyler! He was very excited to get to the field last night. Another boy came over and asked him to play catch with him and Tyler was off. Once practice started he did a great job of listening to the coach. He played some outfield, first base and then some infield. Not really a position in the infield because there were 15 kids on the field and with every bat all the kids would run to the ball to try to get it by pretty much falling on each other. Whoever ended up with the ball threw it to first base. He then hit the ball a half a dozen times which he did very well at. He also seemed less afraid of the ball by the end of practice, but he has yet to catch one. At the end of practice they got their uniforms. When he first found out he was going to on the Tigers he was a little disappointed. He wanted to be on the Cubs. However when he found out that the Tigers are his Opa's favorite team and he got his cool hat and shirt, he was very excited. We went out and got him a new metal bat and tee. He has been practicing all day and counting down the days til his first game. I can't believe I have a tee baller!

28 weeks 3 days picture

So I forgot to take my 28 week picture, so here I am at 28 weeks 3 days when we got back from Montrose. I feel huge and getting more uncomfortable a lot quicker than I did with the other two. I guess that's what happens when you are older and have two other kids.

Memorial Weekend

We were in Montrose for Memorial Weekends. After my massage on Friday (very nice) I picked up Justin from work and we headed off. It was a very nice drive and surprisingly didn't hit to much traffic. We had a very nice weekend. Justin got to golf twice and the Gunnison Pedersons came down so all the cousins got to play together all weekend. We also got in a fun baseball game with all the cousins. While the boys were golfing we went to a couple parks, feed some ducks, went on some walks, and just enjoyed our time together. On Sunday night we went up to Ouray to their hot springs. It was the perfect temperature for the kids (and me!) and the perfect height. There were only a couple spots that Carter couldn't walk around on his own. The boys had a blast and were worn out when we were done. We left Sunday morning and once again we had a nice drive home. The boys did very well in the car and then we had a relaxing rest of the afternoon. It was a wonderful weekend.

Sleepover!

On Thursday morning the boys left with Nana and Bapa to go to their house for a couple days before Justin and I got there. They left no problem, just said "bye mommy!" as they waved goodbye from their car seats. I am told they behaved in the car and did just fine on the four hour trip. They stopped at Denny's for lunch (a first for the boys) where they got baseball shaped pancakes. They stopped in Gunnison on the way to Montrose and played with their cousins. When they got to Montrose (almost 8:30) we called them and told them good night. About an hour later Tyler called back crying. We figured this might happen, but it still broke my heart. After some cuddles with Nana he feel asleep on his own. On Friday they went on some walks, some drives through the mountains, and some errands. Once again we were told they behaved very well. We assumed they would already be asleep by the time we got there, but they were still awake. They were very excited to see us and then went to sleep. I would say a successful first sleepover!
