Nana and Bapa's Visit

Nana and Bapa came into town the night before Nolan's party and brought along Griffin, Noah, and Faith with them. The boys were very excited to see everybody, but was most excited to go to the campsite with them! On Sunday afternoon, Nana and Bapa came and picked them up. Tyler spent Sunday and Monday night at the campsite with them, and Carter stayed through Thursday. They had a blast playing putt-putt, swimming, coloring, and just running around and exploring everything. We also all went to the Olympic Training Center one day, which I think the adults enjoyed more than the kids. On Wednesday, Tyler's first day of school, Nana and Bapa went down to Trinidad and since Justin was off of work we kept Carter with us. We went up to Denver to show Olivia off at his work and Carter got to chose his lunch and he wanted ravioli so we went to Magiannio's . After a celebratory dinner at Red Robin for the first day of school, Carter went back to the campsite. He enjoyed his one on one time with Nana and Bapa Thursday and loved getting to swim  all morning. After Justin and I picked up Tyler we went up there and played putt-putt with our big boys and then cooked out hamburgers for dinner. We said goodbye to them that night and were sad to see them go. The boys can't wait to go camping with Nana and Bapa again.

Nana and Bapa

Nana and Bapa were here to work for the US Women's Open. The boys loved seeing them as always and I was grateful that they watched the boys for one of my doctor appointments. One night the boys went swimming at their hotel's pool. We have been trying to get the boys, especially Tyler, better with being in the pool without us. So we bought both boys some arm floaties and goggles. Tyler was still very scared and he had to hold on to us for dear life. I am pretty sure we are going to have to put him in private lessons or something to get him over his fear. Carter on the other hand did great! Once he saw that he would float he "swam" all over the pool. He jumped in over and over again  all by himself and just had a blast. It was so fun to see! It was also helpful to Justin and I that Carter can be on his own some more. Nolan loved the pool as well, but does not like getting dunked!

Nana and Bapa

Nana and Bapa were in town for a quick trip and the boys loved seeing them. Bapa helped Justin put up the net on the trampoline and the boys loved swimming in their hotel's swimming pool. Nolan even got his first taste of swimming and LOVED it. He sure is a water baby, as long as he isn't on his back. Nana and Bapa will be back in a couple weeks for a week to work at the Women's US Open and we are all excited to spend more time with them then.

Christmas in Montrose

Sorry it has taken me so long to update this! On Wednesday night the Chicago Pedersons came into town. It was nice to hang out with them some before we all headed to Montrose on Thursday when Justin got off of work. We were worried that the mountain passes would be bad, but they weren't too bad and we still made decent time. We didn't even stop until he hit Gunnison where we met with the Gunnison Pedersons and Nana and Bapa. We had dinner there and then us, Nana, Aunt Dana, and Zac headed to Montrose while everyone else stayed back to ski on Friday.
The boys had a blast playing with their cousins. We went on nice long walks, watched movies, played games, and just hung out. On Christmas morning the boys were so excited to see what Santa brought. However they waited patiently for everyone to make it downstairs before tearing into their stockings.  The rest of Christmas day was just hanging out, lots of lego building for  Tyler, and puzzles for Carter, and a very yummy Christmas dinner.  All the grandchildren took family pictures with Nana and Bapa one day and we went back to Ouray's hot springs, which once again the boys loved. We ended up leaving on Tuesday afternoon because of a snow storm that was headed into town. Once again all the kids did great on the ride home and we made good time missing the storm. The Chicago Pedersons stayed one more night at our house before we said by to them the next morning. It was really great seeing everyone and letting all the cousins play together, just wish it could happen more often.

Nana, Bapa, Noah, and Croup

This weekend Nana and Bapa came up to visit and brought Noah with them. The boys were so excited to see "their friend Noah"! When they got here we got a bite to eat before heading out to the pumpkin patch (more about that in another post). As we were leaving Carter's voice sounded funny like there was a frog in it. When we got to the pumpkin patch he was having a full on coughing attack. Once it was over however he seemed fine and we had a great time there. From there we headed back to Nana and Bapa's hotel where Nana watched Nolan and the rest of us swam. Tyler was pretty nervous in the water at first, but after a few minutes he was splashing all over. Carter had a blast jumping in and riding on Justin and Bapa's backs. They were both dead asleep when we got home.

In the middle of the night however Carter woke up to another coughing fit and with this one I knew he had croup . So in the morning we headed to the doctor. Luckily his oxygen levels were fine and he didn't have a fever at all. They gave him a prescription for some steroids and gave us the ok to have breakfast with Nana , Bapa, and Noah before they headed home and we said our goodbyes. Carter is already feeling better today, with no coughing last night at all. Even though Carter was sick, we still had a lot of fun with Nana, Bapa, and Noah!

Nana, Bapa, Aunt Dawn and Pikes Peak

Last Sunday we got the special treat of Nana, Bapa, and Aunt Dawn coming into town! The boys loved seeing them. Aunt Dawn treated us all to dinner where she also ordered a mud pie cake. Up on seeing the ice cream cake, Tyler told us all "that's the hugest cake I have ever seen!!!" Needless to say they enjoyed it. They spent the night in their hotel that night and the next day Nana, Bapa, and Aunt Dawn took them on the drive to the top of Pikes Peak. Carter told me that they "could see the whole entire world" from up there. It was a little chilly (only 36 degrees at the top) and very windy so they also got some new fleece jackets and a stuff animal each. I enjoyed having a day with just Nolan where we got some housework and grocery shopping done. It was a very nice day for all of us!

Nana and Bapa

Nana and Bapa got here Sunday afternoon in case Nolan decided to make an early appearance. They brought their camper a long with them so the boys have been staying with them. It has been very nice for Justin and I to get to sleep in every morning, and have a very quiet, clean house for a few days. Yesterday we all went up to Seven Falls. The boys were tried and somewhat cranky so I wasn't sure how they would do. However once they started up the stairs (all 233 of them) they did great. Or so I am told, I stayed at the bottom. When they got to the top they actually wanted to keep going on the trail and were disappointed that they weren't allowed to. Enjoy the pictures!

Memorial Weekend

We were in Montrose for Memorial Weekends. After my massage on Friday (very nice) I picked up Justin from work and we headed off. It was a very nice drive and surprisingly didn't hit to much traffic. We had a very nice weekend. Justin got to golf twice and the Gunnison Pedersons came down so all the cousins got to play together all weekend. We also got in a fun baseball game with all the cousins. While the boys were golfing we went to a couple parks, feed some ducks, went on some walks, and just enjoyed our time together. On Sunday night we went up to Ouray to their hot springs. It was the perfect temperature for the kids (and me!) and the perfect height. There were only a couple spots that Carter couldn't walk around on his own. The boys had a blast and were worn out when we were done. We left Sunday morning and once again we had a nice drive home. The boys did very well in the car and then we had a relaxing rest of the afternoon. It was a wonderful weekend.

Sleepover!

On Thursday morning the boys left with Nana and Bapa to go to their house for a couple days before Justin and I got there. They left no problem, just said "bye mommy!" as they waved goodbye from their car seats. I am told they behaved in the car and did just fine on the four hour trip. They stopped at Denny's for lunch (a first for the boys) where they got baseball shaped pancakes. They stopped in Gunnison on the way to Montrose and played with their cousins. When they got to Montrose (almost 8:30) we called them and told them good night. About an hour later Tyler called back crying. We figured this might happen, but it still broke my heart. After some cuddles with Nana he feel asleep on his own. On Friday they went on some walks, some drives through the mountains, and some errands. Once again we were told they behaved very well. We assumed they would already be asleep by the time we got there, but they were still awake. They were very excited to see us and then went to sleep. I would say a successful first sleepover!

Nana, Bapa, and Thunderbirds

So as I mentioned in the 28 week post, Nana and Bapa are in town. They come in Tuesday night and Justin took off work Wednesday so that we could all watch the Thunderbird show that they were doing for the Air Force graduation. Tyler has been pumped for this ever since we bought him a thunderbird plane. However when we got there, he was hungry, tired, and overall cranky. He was upset that he didn't get to see them land. The rest of us enjoyed the show however. They flew right over our heads and did a great job. The boys left today with Nana and Bapa for an overnight in Montrose. They were very excited to go and helped me pack their bags. They also made sure that we would call them so they could talk to us on the phone and told me many times that they would miss me. However when I buckled them in to the car today there was no hesitation with them driving off without me. Justin and I are going to drive down there tomorrow night when Justin gets off work. We are all looking forward to a fun time at Nana and Bapa's over the long weekend!

Old Friends

One of Justin's old friends form high school, Jenny, has been in Denver finishing up her Fellowship at Denver Children's Hospital. Her parents, the Dillows, also family friends, came into town with her kids for a couple weeks, so this weekend Nana and Bapa come down and we all got together. The boys had a blast with Jenny's daughters and we all had fun catching up, Justin and I hadn't seen the Dillows since our wedding. Carter and Addi really hit it off and played together the majority of the time. Here are the four of them enjoying a picnic snack together. Of course the boys had a great time seeing Nana and Bapa and Max as well. The weather being so gorgeous just made the weekend that much better.

Valentine's Weekend

Nana and Bapa came up this weekend and brought cousin Noah with them! All the boys had a lot of fun playing together. We also watched the beginning of the Olympics and the boys cheered "Go USA!" as loud as last time. Tyler however was hoping to see some swimming or running. He decided speed skating was pretty cool too though. The boys also had fun going to Costco with Nana and Bapa and playing with puppy Max. On Sunday Nana and Bapa watched all three boys, and braved taking them out to dinner, so that Justin and I could go out. It was a very nice time. On Monday they left in the morning, which I think the boys were ready for based on the number of tantrums. Of course Carter cried when they left and Tyler refused to say goodbye. Justin had the day off so we then took the boys to the park. Tyler was so independent and just ran around, without a care of where Justin and I were. He did listen every time we called him back however. Carter climbed every possible like usual. We had a quiet night and a great family weekend!

Christmas with Nana and Bapa

On Thursday afternoon Nana came into town and she brought their new puppy Max. At first the boys kept saying they wanted Max back in his cage, but after a little while they enjoyed playing with him. They also loved taking Max on walks with Nana. On Friday after school we all went to pick up Bapa from the airport. They boys loved watching the planes and seeing the snowplows move around on the runways. Nana and Bapa watched the boys that night while Justin and I went to Drew and Brittney's rehearsal dinner. We were told they did great, had a yummy dinner of mac and cheese and hot dogs, and watched a movie before bed. Saturday Nana and Bapa again watched the boys while Justin and I were at the wedding (which was beautiful). We were told once again they behaved pretty well. They went to the pet store to get Max some new toys, to Red Robin for lunch and had pizza for dinner. Nana and Bapa wore them out so much Tyler was falling asleep at the dinner table. Needless to say they went to bed right away. Sunday morning we exchanged Christmas gifts before heading out to breakfast and saying good bye to Nana and Bapa. The boys LOVE the new legos they got. All they have done since then is played with them. Thanks for a great weekend Nana and Bapa!
