38 week Appointment

Yesterday I had my 38 week appointment  and an ultrasound to measure her size. Leah was kind enough to watch the boys so Justin could join me at the appointment. Well the good news is, she is still a girl, looks very healthy, has a lot of hair on her head, and is weighing in at 7 lbs 10 ounces. So like I was thinking she will be bigger than Nolan, but not as big as Tyler and Carter. The one big surprise however is that after being head down for the past few weeks she has flipped and is breech. I am thinking she actually turned Wednesday night as on Thursday morning my stomach and her movements felt different. 
After the ultrasound we went and saw my doctor. He thinks he will be able to turn her because after three kids I have more room for her to turn (obviously since she turned on her own). However since she hasn't really been engaged in my pelvis I am still not dilated at all (only 1 cm). By this time with all the other three I was at least 2 or 3 cms.  Because of this he thinks my induction may take longer than we thought and he isn't on call the night we were planning to induce. So now the plan is to go in early on Monday the 8th. If she is head down, great we will go ahead and induce. If she isn't head down he will try to turn her and then induce me. If the turning doesn't work we will do a c-section that day.  So no matter what we should be meeting her on the 8/8/11! I will now have one more appointment as well next week. I am hoping she will be head down by then and maybe some progress as well - one can hope anyway :).

Nursery is Done!

Thanks to Justin, we got the nursery done today. We pretty much split the room in two and Nolan and Olivia each have their own sides. I think it turned out pretty well.  I had my 37 week appointment and after the ultrasound next week we will schedule the induction - only 13 days left hopefully! Enjoy the pictures!

Olivia's Shower

On Saturday, Melissa and Lindsay through me a shower to celebrate Olivia.  It meant so much to me that our friends want to celebrate her upcoming arrival! It was just what I wanted as well - hanging out with my friends and catching up with each other, having some girl time, and oh the ice cream cake and all the cute outfits and diapers were wonderful too! My mom also sent out some more clothes that she bought her and a few of my dresses that I wore when I was little. I can not wait to see them in her and take her pictures in them. Thanks Melissa and Lindsay - you girls are the best!

36 week appointment

On Thursday I had my 36 week appointment. They checked me and did my strep test. No dilation yet, but I am getting very ready for that to start and am 20 % effaced. She is also head down and has started dropping, but not totally down yet. Everything less looks great. I will go back next week and in two weeks we will have an ultrasound to check her size. So far she is measuring right on though so they don't think she will be too big.  I will also be induced at 39 weeks, so less than 3 weeks to go - crazy!

Getting Ready for Olivia

We are slowly but surely getting ready for this little girl to come. We have her crib (although not yet set up) a double stroller, plenty of clothes, and almost everything else we need to get. The boys are very excited and Tyler even said yesterday "I want my sister to come now!" Nolan has no idea what is coming to him. The boys made her a bear at Build a Bear and Justin has picked out her going home outfit. .Having a daughter has also made me a little more crafty I guess as I also made her a bow holder for her room. I am hoping within the next couple of weeks her nursery will all be done.  We only have about 5 weeks left until we should meet her!

30 week Appointment

Once again behind on the blog! Last week I had my 30 week appointment. It was pretty uneventful. Everything looks and sounds great. One more appointment in 2 weeks and then I am onto weekly appointments.  I am feeling pretty good, but getting tired quicker and Nolan seems to get heavier by the day when I carry him around. We finally got a crib and her double stroller ad we hope to start working on the nursery in the next couple of weeks!

28 week Appointment

Last Thursday before we left for Maryland I had my 28 week appointment. All the boys had to come with me, but they all behaved very well. Tyler was very interested in listening to the heartbeat. Everything looks great still and they have no concerns. They also said I don't need to worry about my hernia at all unless it starts hurting or anything. She is measuring right on and they had no concerns about my weight gain (I have lost track with how much I have gained at this point, but its more than Nolan). I now start going every 2 weeks - this pregnancy is going by fast!

24 weeks!

On Friday I hit 24 weeks and today I had my 24 week appointment. Everything looks great with Miss Olivia Joy (yes we have decided on her name). Her heartbeat was great, my blood pressure was great, and I am measuring at 26 cm, so a little ahead. I have gained more weight with her (19 lbs) than I did with Nolan at this point, but they are not concerned.  I also had my glucose test and should know in a couple days if I passed it or not. I am finally feeling her more regularly and Justin is feeling strong kicks now as well. I will go back in three weeks so I can have one more appointment in before we leave for Maryland. We have lots of pink things and I even broke down and bought her a pink car seat. We are very excited to have her here, but I am also trying to enjoy every minute of this pregnancy and the last few months with just my boys.

Little Sister

Here is just a picture of my three boys announcing that they are going to have a little sister! They boys are so excited about having a sister and "protecting her because girls are fragile". The other day Justin overheard this conversation.
Tyler "I'm going to use my bat to protect our sister against the bad guys."
Carter "I don't have anything to protect her with."
Tyler "You can use my bat, we will share it to take care of the bad guys."

They are also trying to come up with names for her. Right now Carter wants her to be named Oliver (ummm no) and Tyler likes Brooke.

We were watching the disney channel and they had some commercial on for a dress up party with Minnie Mouse at the disney store. Carter announces that he, Tyler, daddy, and Nolan, would not like to go to that store. Its only for mommy and baby sister. Hen then decided it would be ok to go there to buy something for his sister there though.

I love how excited they are for her to get here!

Its a.....

GIRL!!!!!!!!

I had my ultrasound today and my 20 week appointment. I was nervous because I still really haven't felt the baby move. However we found out that my placenta is right in front, which is why I am not feeling her. She was kicking like crazy even though I couldn't feel her She was also curled up on her side, with her feet in her mouth and stayed in that position most of the time Her heartbeat was at 157 bpm, she looks perfectly healthy and is measuring in the 87th percentile right now. Because of her position there is no denying that she is a she. Justin even saw it on the screen before the ultrasound tech told us. She asked if we wanted to know and if we would believe her when she told us. I said "yes, its a boy right?" and she said "nope its a girl!"!! I am immediately yelled "what!" and "are you sure" and she was 100% . Justin and I both teared up a little and its still very surreal to think we will have a daughter. Most importantly we are happy that she seems so healthy.

After the ultrasound we went a picked up a pink onesie and then picked the boys up from school early. We showed them the onesie and asked them if they knew what it meant. They immediately said it meant a girl and went and told their teachers. They then ran around the church carrying the onesie singing "we are going to have a sister" and telling everyone they saw. It was so cute to watch and I love that they are excited to be big brothers to a sister. Can't believe its a girl!!!! If anyone has any suggestions for a new blog name let me know!

16 week Appointment

I had my 16 week appointment today. I was nervous as I still have yet to feel this baby move. While I know I am still early, I has felt movement by now with the other three.  It took them a while but we finally heard the heartbeat. It was once again only for a few seconds before the baby moved. The doctor thinks that my placenta is right in front which is why its hard for me to feel the baby and for them to find the heartbeat. I drew some blood and got to schedule our big ultrasound for March 28th! I will also have my 20 week appointment at that time. I brought Nolan with me to the appointment and he was the biggest hit. All the nurses and the doctors had to come say hi. It also helps that they all know me so well by now! Here is a picture of me at 16 weeks. I am carrying very high and my pants all still fit, which I find odd but since I know the baby is healthy I will take it!

Telling The Boys

We told the boys last week about the newest baby. We were out to dinner and they were completely engrossed in their coloring and we were curious if they would even notice if we said anything. Justin just asked them "do you know mommy has another baby in her tummy?" The boys immediately looked up and said "really! another baby!". They are very excited and happy that Nolan will get to be a big brother now too. Tyler wants a sister and Carter wants another brother.  The next day, Carter did ask "why are we having another baby" however he gives me kisses on my tummy daily and tells the baby he "loves it so much!".  I am glad to know they are excited about another sibling. If you saw how great they are with Nolan though, you never would think they wouldn't be.

Well.....

We did it again! We are expecting another baby! I am know 14 weeks and feeling pretty good about this pregnancy.  I am due August 12, 2011 - which is Nolan's first birthday! I have some morning sickness, but not as bad as Nolan so no complaints here! We have had an ultrasound were I got to see the baby moving all over and heard the heartbeat last week at my 13 week appointment. Like last time I have been blogging about it privately so I will add those posts to this blog soon. We are very excited and I am trying to enjoy every minute of this pregnancy as most likely it will be my last one.

12.5 week Appointment

Yesterday I braved the cold to go to my doctors appointment. Justin was going to go with me, but since school was closed he stayed home with all the boys. I gained a couple pounds so am now up to 3 pounds, of course that could have been all my extra layers I had on. My blood pressure was a little high for me but nothing to worry about. We found the baby's heartbeat right away, although he/she kept moving around so we never heard it for long. The doctor called it a little jelly bean. I was very relieved to hear it and now we will probably tell more people including the boys. I am sure they will be very excited - we are!

Telling the Fam

After my doctor confirmed the pregnancy in the middle of December,  we told my parents. They were very shocked but excited for a new grandchild. We told Justin's parents and siblings on Christmas Eve in Montrose - once again people were very surprised. On Christmas morning we told my brothers as well who are also excited for us. We have also told our close friends who have been praying for us and this baby and are hoping that we have a girl. We won't tell the boys or many more people until the 2nd trimester, but it has been fun surprising people and seeing their reactions!

Ultrasound

On Thursday I finally had my first ultrasound. It was actually great timing as I started spotting some the day before, so I was happy to see all was well. The little peanut was dancing all around, moving the arm and leg buds and wiggling around.  The heart rate was at 176 beats per minute and according to the ultrasound the due date would be 8/12/11 - Nolan's first birthday! I have my first ob appointment tomorrow and on Sunday I will already be 10 weeks! I am so happy that so far all is going well with this pregnancy. I get some morning sickness when I don't eat enough, but so far not as bad as it was with Nolan - thank goodness!

Well, We Did It Again....

Another Pederson will be here! This one's due date will be August 15th, three days after Nolan turns one. Most likely the newest one will be here for his birthday - Irish Twins! I discovered on Sunday that we were expecting and my first appointment is the 14th. We will wait til at least that appointment before we will tell anyone.

Why this baby does come as surprise, we also see Tyler and Carter's relationship so we hope having two more as close will be a good thing.  And this way I won't be stressing trying to conceive my girl. Either way this will be our last baby so I am going to enjoy every minute of it.  Because of our history I am nervous, but we are very hopeful to be a family of 6 in 9 months!

Pregnancy Updates

I feel like all I blog about lately are my doctor appointments! The boys are doing well, we just have been taking it easy and haven't been doing to much. On Monday night I was in a lot of pain so Justin took Tuesday off and I headed into the doctors. It was determined that I somehow pulled a lot of muscles so I was put on muscle relaxers. While I am still somewhat sore, the relaxers and the 48 hours of bed rest seemed to help as I can at least walk now. At that appointment I was still only 2-3 centimeters. Everything else looked great however and I actually lost two pounds.

Today I had my 38 week appointment (which is what the picture is - me at 38 weeks). I am now a good 3-4 centimeters and still 50% effaced. While I don't feel that he has dropped the doctor says his head is right there and he is plenty low. He was measuring at 39 weeks based on the tape measure. After that we went over to get an ultrasound to measure his size and estimate his weight. Surprising to everyone else he is only weighing in at 6 lbs 9 oz!!!!!! I have no idea what to do with a 6 lb baby. They did set up my induction for August 12th at 8 a.m. - right when I hit 39 weeks. However they will be very surprised if I make it that long. So back to the waiting game. I was really hoping we would have him here this weekend, but I also know its out of our hands. Either way we are ready for him to come - the hospital bag is packed and the carseat is in!

Nolan's Celebration

On Sunday Melissa came down to take me to dinner along with some other friends to have a celebration for Nolan. It was very nice to get out and have some girl time and enjoy each others company. I also love that my friends want to celebrate Nolan with us and are just as excited as we are for him to make his appearance. Thanks Melissa!!!!

37 weeks

Sorry about the lack of posting. Last Friday my ear was still hurting pretty bad with the tylenol and sudafed not helping at all so I went to Urgent Care. I was diagnosed with a double ear infection and pink eye in both eyes - fun. Luckily this meant antibiotics. Unfortunately the antibiotics that they can give me don't usually work on me. So while I am feeling much better, I still can't really hear out of my ears and have that plugged up feeling. Needless to say we haven't been doing much around here this week. On Wednesday I also had my last official day of work and the boys are already asking when they get to go again. I hope the next month before school starts goes quickly!

Yesterday I had my 37 week appointment. Everything looked great and I gained another pound. With the boys I had stopped gaining at this point so yet another new thing this pregnancy is bringing me. My blood pressure and his heart rate were once again perfect as well. I am now dilated a "good 2", almost 3 cm and a definite change from last week. While my doctor thinks that most likely I will make it next week to my 38 week appointment, if I happen to think I am in labor I need to go to the hospital as my body is ready for him to come. This weekend will be getting all the last things done - grocery shopping, installing the car seat, and packing the hospital bag as we start the fun waiting game!
